Terrestrial Forms

I created this series for one of my class projects. It is made up of various contortions and close-up images of the body, of which only a few are displayed below. I wanted the work to explore the unnaturalness, alien and textured-nature that our skin, skeletal structure and shape can have. I wanted people to see the body as an intriguing subject, filled with elements that make it unique and mysterious. I wanted to show the body in ways it is not normally seen; to showcase its ability to be eerie, unfamiliar and completely foreign. We are human and creature all at once. Our bodies are strange, yet beautiful, and the depth we can find from exploring them are what I hope these photos highlight.
