Abstracted

This body of work is from a variety of different destinations scattered all over Cape Town. I for one used to think landscape was always about seeing the bigger picture and focusing on contextual positioning of a space. But to go against that in this series was extremely liberating. I often seem to be drawn to small details or quiet scenes within a place and to be able to showcase some of these is very exciting. I find it immerses one more in the environment as you are forced to search for clues to figure out where you might be. In contrast, wide angle shots give away the answer immediately and I find it is easier and quicker to detach. Hope these images can transport you to places both familiar yet foreign as you feel into them without the distractions of an obvious location.
